Plaine Products shampoo + conditioner
I love using Plaine Products’ shampoo and conditioner in the scent citrus lavender. I use just three to four pumps of each on my hair and it comes out looking fantastic. The shampoo really lathers up nicely while the conditioner glides onto my hair and really soaks into the follicles. Sometimes, for a deeper conditioning, I’ll wait a few minutes before rinsing it out of my hair, using the time to shave or clean my body with some bar soap. After I get the shampoo and conditioner out and blow dry my hair, it looks so beautiful and full of voluptuous volume. I like to shower every other day to conserve water and I’ve gotten several compliments on my hair – even the day after showering! Plus, I love how long the products last without having to re-purchase right away. When I do run out, Plaine Products makes it so easy to send the bottles back to be easily recycled (and then I can just get new ones). Zero waste win! Wooden Hair Brush
I purchased a wooden brush before I went zero waste. Unfortunately, the bristles are plastic, and this brush has truly seen better days. Still, it serves me well and I don’t see the need to replace it just yet. When I do replace it, I intend on getting a brush with wooden bristles as well. Until then, it would be more wasteful to throw it out simply because the bristles are plastic – being zero waste is so much more than just having aesthetically pleasing items!DIY Hair Rinse
I also love using a DIY green tea hair rinse once a week after shampooing and conditioning: It promotes hair growth and adds shine.
Ingredients: - 2 – 4 organic green tea bags
- 1 cup of water
- Heat the water on the stove, bringing it to a boil. Place your tea bags into a mug, then pour the hot water over them. Let it steep for 30 to 45 minutes or until cool then transfer over to an easy to handle glass bottle.
- Now, apply to your hair (wet or dry). Allow it to stay in your hair for 5 to 15 minutes, gently massaging the scalp in a circular motion. Finally, rinse out with cold water.
